Melrakkaslétta between Kópasker and Raufarhöfn

Melrakkaslétta-peninsula is without a doubt the most undiscovered natureparadise in Iceland. Rugged shorelines, driftwood from Siberia, dozens of birdspecies, trout in the lakes, Throne of the midnight sun and a photographers best friend in summer as in winter.

Melrakkaslétta or the „Arctic Fox plain“ is that part of Iceland that reaches farthest to the north. The Peninsula stretches out between the two small villages of Kópasker and Raufarhöfn with an approximately 55 km coast road.

Undescribable light during the darkest wintermonths, northernlights and the open North-Atlantic ocean that never sounds the same each day of the year. The stillness, the energy and the feeling of solitude in a magnificent nature in the neighbourhood of the arctic circle is a unique experience.
